“Minimalist atmospheric paintings born from a foundation in abstraction.”
Emerging from a background in abstraction, my work has evolved into a personal visual language spanning purely abstract compositions, landscapes, cityscapes and mountainous terrains. I’m drawn to the tension between form and freedom, where suggestion takes precedence over precision, and feeling over detail.
Some of my work depicts real, identifiable places, while other pieces emerge from emotion, memory or imagination. Whether rooted in the real or entirely imagined, each work is guided more by mood and perception than by accuracy.
I seek to reduce subjects to their essential forms, using line, shape, colour and expressive marks to create a sense of atmosphere. Through restraint and suggestion, I aim to capture the character of a place without describing every detail. Each piece becomes an exploration of place and perception, inviting the viewer to pause, interpret and imagine.
